Seeking A Game To Play / Looking for LFR 4e Hey, I was wondering if anyone out there is running games from the LFR set (any tier) and has room for another body at the table. I'm anxious to play on weeknights especially, starting at 8 pm EST or later. Weekends are hit-or-miss since I regularly travel to my in-laws out of state (they miss their granddaughter). ~ Patrick |

Seeking Players For A Game / Looking for some players of Shadowrun 4e The game will take place this Saturday (May 21st) at 6 PM EST. It'll just be done over the Infrno engine. The game will probably take place in Seattle, but I'm still making the mission, and I'm open to suggestions if you have a preference. There are two other poeple on board for this game, so we just need one more to start, but two more would be perfect. If you have a character, email it to me at alexlolwut@gmail.com. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. If you have any questions, you can PM me, or shoot me an email. |

General / Features you would pay for? @Nobody, I think you're right. It's a wmode setting, and that's not a quick fix. I'm working with the tokbox guys and hope to have some things on staging to test later this week, which I'll ask you to help test before it goes to production. Hang in there, I'll get this nailed. @Clyde, map gen tools are certainly a candidate for the next Feature Caucus, It's not a direction I would go in without significant user demand for it, as there are great tools elsewhere for this. But hey, if the users vote it up, we will build it. |

General / Features you would pay for? I know ive said it a couple times but i would really like to see the game table have some map making ability like a dungeon or a city map or even a way to create your own world if you want to homebrew and save it to the gametable like the charater's you register does |

General / Features you would pay for? @Doon 1) No 2) Yes 3) Did that before, didn't help.
OK my feeling of how it is, it feels like the dialogue to cick is under something. Like I can see it but can't click it. However, that doesn't, to me, explain why tab/enter won't allow me to use it either. |

Beta Feedback / Game table individual zoom in and zoom out? It would be nice (and a lot easier on the eyes) if each person could zoom in and out of the game table at will, without affecting the others. Sometimes the GM has a different idea of what view is ideal than some of the players.
This may have been brought up before, if so please disregard. |

General / Mutants and Masterminds Podcast Hey Mike!
Glad to hear you liked the show. As for the 'Players in Conflict' moment, I felt it was a good opportunity to bring the topic up, not that it represented something going wrong with the 'game' behind the movie. I figured if your players are skilled enough to have a conflict scene like that and show off their complications, you're probably not needing my help too much. ;) Seriously, though, you bring up good points and are absolutely right on those. Origin stories are really important to characters in games and in comics. I think I try to put them off a little bit until the player has 'found their footing' with a character rather than insert a lot of backstory only to learn later that they wished they'd played a character a different way. I like to leave things open until they figure out how they want to play the character, then introduce the backstory elemens in flashbacks. Some games really focus on developing relationships to the other players prior to the start of the game, but I like to let that stuff kind of happen organically. But yeah, those techniques can certainly be useful to help ground people in the scenario and give them a strong motivation to work as a team.
I look forward to bringing more podcasts soon!

Beta Feedback / Recent improvements suggestion Hi! My blog posts tagged 'dev blog' serve this purpose, among many others, but it's not the centralized repository I think you're asking for. We also announce feature releases in the newsletter, which is a weekly-ish thing. Regarding more GM tools for managing the table, custom libraries are in the wings, by which I mean giving users the ability to author their own 'shapes' collections. The authoring tool is done, the front end is done, what remains is the ability to upload and manage them on the back end. This is going to be really neat stuff. Two or three times a year, we invite our users to review our feature list in a Feature Caucus, and reorder it by voting up the items that interest them most. Come tell us what you want next! And of course, paying members get more votes.

General / Features you would pay for? @Mr Nobody, props for the screenshot, very helpful, tx! 1) Does this report any issues for you? http://www.tokbox.com/user-diagnostic/ 2) Does this work for you? http://www.tokbox.com/opentok/api/tools/js/tutorials/helloworld.html 3) Try clearing your cache. @Clyde, there's a 3d die roller in the works that will have all sorts of macro love. @Jayson. First off, welcome to the Epic club! What's a CS?

Beta Feedback / A flaw and a request The 'stubborn accept button' bug is a known, sporadic issue. This is the first report of this happening in Chrome. The game table is due for another dev pass this week, and one of the todo items is a 'report bug' button which will send me all your versions and config details. I will email you when this ships, and ask your help reproducing this bug. The work around for now, try IE (shudder). Regarding premade tables, custom libraries are in the wings, by which I mean giving users the ability to author their own 'shapes' collections. The authoring tool is done, the front end is done, what remains is the ability to upload and manage them on the back end. This is going to be really neat stuff. Sorry for the video hassles, please bear with us! |

General / Mutants and Masterminds Podcast Listened to the Avengers podcast, James, and I really liked it. Always nice to hear from the guys behind M&M, especially Steve. Regarding the argument scene in the lab leading up to the ambush on the Helicarrier, I felt like it did a good job of laying out the Complications of each "PC" and putting them on the table. While you can interpret it as players in conflict, I think if your players are tuned in to one another's wavelengths and are helping to build the narrative, they don't necessarily have to be arguing to have their characters at odds. It not only lets them create tension, its a great opportunity for roleplaying in the comic book tradition. Finding that balance can be tricky, though; it can easily fall into metagame pissing contests. Something else maybe worth mentioning - the fact that each PC had an introduction of a kind in "previous sessions", the Marvel movies leading up to this one. I think the old World of Darkness had a similar idea called Preludes, but I've also tried it in a M&M campaign years back. Each PC was given an "origin issue" in which they were the central character with the other players potraying supporting roles. They weren't as involved or lengthy as the equivalent solo movies, but it did seem to help ground people and give a sense of a larger world. Anyways, look forward to further podcastery! |

Beta Feedback / A flaw and a request My first problem is I am unable to join a call on the game table clicking the accept button has no reaction,I know at least one other person has had the same problem, Unfouratnetly, they were on firefox and I am on Google Chrome.
Secondly, I would like, if there isnt already a way to go into the game table, add pictures and use it,then save what I have done and clear, this way I can make duengons before needing them and have multiple game pages ready to go depeneding on partty action. This could also be tied in with the templates useable by multiple people and acheviments for a certain number of people using your "Pre made game table". |

Games Discussion / Civil War is coming for Marvel Heroic Roleplaying I honestly......love things like that where you could go in and change the world by your playing. History is always stuck thats the thing with history but games like this make it fun to go back and perhaps change it and maybe see how things would pan out from there. Heck running some random heroes not the main cannon that happened to inadvertantly do things that threw off the whole story and changed it would be a fun game I would think |

General / Features you would pay for? This may just be laziness talking but perhaps a feature that uses CSes for games instead of having to manually plug everything in. Kinda like what myth weavers or those other sites use |

General / Features you would pay for? i guess not so much as fog of war as to just hide the stuff so players dont see but what the Dm wants them to see also is there a way to Macro the dice roller sounds a little lazy but a way to maybe if the DM doesnt except you rolling 3d20 but wants three D20's roll each a way to just push a button to bring back up what was the last thing you did in chat i think this would be a good feather for the game table |

Beta Feedback / Recent improvements suggestion One thing I think would be good for the site is having a 'recent improvements' list. It could be a sticked thread, it could be on the main page, who knows.
But for instance, I love how sites likes dwarf fortress keep their users appraised of where things are headed, or what's changed. In particular, I'm watching to see the place get a bit more full-fledged before I recommend it to more friends, I had one check it out and while he thought it was super cool that it was all web based, he also found it not as full featured as many of the other VT's out there. In particular, it seems hard to pre-prep adventure segments and have stuff loaded but hidden. |

General / Features you would pay for? Fog of war is a request that comes up quite a bit, and until now, I'd say 'not the kind of thing we want to do', cuz it's more d20pro territory, as opposed to our kitchen table kind of tool. However, the Feature Caucus may steer us in that direction. Stay tuned! |

Seeking A Game To Play / LF 4e or 3.5 DnD campaign Hello I am a vet player who has lost his group. I moved from a 3-4 year weekly campaign group to nothing at all. I am feining for some good ole DnD I have 4e Books and am familiar enough with 3.5 that most of the stuff is stored in my brain (also have books though too) Im looking for a campaing that has some longgevity to it Im a RPer and love to role Play (firm believer in ROLE play not ROLL play) Also very flexible in I have played most of the core classes and am willing to play whatever the group needs for a compliment if I am needed to go that way.
Please feel free to drop me a line on here or my email zwirnerj@yahoo.com if you are interested in an old player

General / Features you would pay for? how about a Fog of War feature for the gametable just to give the DM a chance to hide Tolkens from players |
